High School State Champions signings at Baton Rouge
Baton Rouge Capitals coach Stuart Hayers has thrown down the gauntlet to his latest new signees, Jesuit high School standouts goalkeeper Joe Hart and defenders Jordan Schwartz and Steven Cabos: “Bring your 'A' games to the Capitals this summer”.
The Capitals’ coaching staff are big advocates of youth and believe they can win a national title with a young squad. "I only signed players i believe will contribute,” said Hayers. “And these three will have to do just that for us to be successful"
Goalkeeper Joe Hart (right) from Metairie, LA., has previous PDL experience from a recent short stint with New Orleans and, like his English namesake, is arguably the best keeper in the country at his level, as his low goals against average throughout the demonstrates.
Hart is a great shot stopper as well as a big presence between the sticks and will
look for playing time this summer before heading off to College. Capitals’ G.M.
Ben Callon was keen to sign Hart having seen first-
Hart is delighted to sign for Capitals, saying, "I am looking forward to building
on the experience gained last year and I know I can learn a lot from (goalkeeper)
Michael Watkins and the staff at the Capitals. I can’t wait to contribute and will
look to push Michael for the number-

Jordan will be battling for the same position head coach Stuart Hayers; something which, according Hayers, will help Jordan improve as a player as he readies himself for his first season at D1 school Coastal Carolina. Ben Callon added: "He was brought to our attention early this season by Brandon Chagnard who coaches at Jesuit, and I have been highly impressed with him. He will gain a lot of experience before going to college."
Said Jordan , "Playing for the Capitals is an exciting experience and I can’t wait to get started."
Stephen Cabos (pictured at top of page)has been described as a midfield maestro and was the driving force in the central midfield for the Jesuit High School this season. Cabos will be the youngest on the squad by some way as he is still a Junior in High School. However, as coach Hayers remarked, “His ability really does highlight the cliche that age is nothing but a number.” Ben Callon added, "Stephen has the talent (as a junior) to earn himself a scholarship at one of the top ten schools. His experience with us will help take his game to the next level.
