GREAT NIGHT FOR SOCCER. CAPITALS TIE MONTERREY 2-2
Wednesday was a great night for the Baton Rouge soccer aficionado. The evening started with a scrimmage between the Baton Rouge Capitals Reserve Squad and the Olanchano FC (Champions of La Liga
Latina Soccer of Baton Rouge). The match was very spirited and the Olanchano team won 2-1.
Then a very large crowd (over 1,500 people in attendance) was rewarded with an excellent game when the Baton Rouge Capitals played against the Monterrey Rayados, the reserves from a professional team that competes in the second division in Mexico. The game ended with a 2-2 tie and plenty of incredible plays on both ends. Goals were score by Leo de Barros and Ricardo Santos for the Capitals.
The Capitals seem to have a lot of momentum heading into Saturday's game vs Austin Aztex at Olympia Stadium at 7:00 pm. Prior to the match the La Liga All Star Game will take place at 4:00 pm.
