CAPITALS CONTINUE TO FLY HIGH AND BEAT AUSTIN

The Baton Rouge Capitals are peaking at the right time. This time it was the Austin Aztex who felt the punch of the all-systems-go Capitals.

The evening started with high expectations as the Aztex came to Olympia after clinching the Mid South Division Title. Also, the game took added importance as the New Orleans Shockers had won the night before and jumped ahead of the Baton Rouge team in points earned. So the Capitals had to win to keep their hopes alive to qualify for playoffs and to passed again the Shockers in the standings.

And that is exactly what the Capitals did. With goals from Leo de Barros and Gino Ray, the team prevailed on a 2-1 win. Despite the fact that the Capitals had to play a man down for 12 minutes due to a red card, they were not to be denied.

Now the showdown is set for Wednesday night when the Capitals go to New Orleans to face their interstate foes. Kick off will be at 6:00 pm.
