Gordon is happy to be playing his first season in PDL at the age of just 21 and added, "Playing with and against a few of these players is very exciting because I know the level I must play at to contribute. I know coach Hayers has a few ideas of what positions he likes me to play in order to help the team and if and when I get the opportunity to step on the field I can't wait to give my best to the side."

Ewan Clarke (pictured above in Watford’s gold uniform)is the latest of the trio to sign and, following his year of amateur reinstatement, he will be looking to contribute to Lynn University’s 2010 season.  His year of practice at Lynn University has already provided Capitals’ staff with enough reason to sign Clarke who is a former Watford FC first team squad member, boasting the 2008 pre-season leading goalscorer for the club, where he was top scorer for the first team in pres-season and became youth team leading goalscorer with 13 goals in 19 games.

Ewan’s dream of a professional contract were cut short due to an ankle injury, but bouncing back and taking a scholarship in the USA has rekindled his desire to play at the highest level.

Capitals’ GM Ben Callon said, “A player of Ewan’s caliber is not easy to find. I knew immediately when I saw him in training sessions that his strength and goal scoring prowess were attributes we wanted at Baton Rouge."

Hayers added, "Ewan will complement players and formations very well. He is a natural goalscorer, which is rare, and I see him as an old-fashioned ‘number nine’. Being only 19 he is mature beyond his years and posses a raw strength and ability to hold the ball up in tight situations and to score goals.

Scott Gordon is also a former Mercer University standout becoming a Freshman All-Conference Selection and Academic All-Conference selection before his transfer to Lynn University.  Since his move Gordon continued to flourish and was named as an All SSC selection while helping Lynn become number one ranked in NCAA II during the 2009 season.  His most memorable scoring moment  was scoring a hat-trick against USL 1 Miami FC in spring 2009.

Coach Stuart Hayers was delighted to capture Scott Gordon saying, "Scott is a thoroughbred. He has the raw attributes and soccer brain to excel in the PDL and I am certain we will eventually see him playing at a higher level following his college eligibility"
