Press Release

CAPITALS SEASON ENDS
The Baton Rouge Capitals played their last 2008 game at Olympia Stadium this past Friday against the Mississippi Brilla. A victory that day would have allowed the Capitals to possibly finish tied in second place in the Mid South Division/ However, the team was not able to finish the chances created and lost 3-1 that night.
The solo goal was scored in the first half by Ricardo Santos assisted by Gino Ray. The Capitals at that pont found themselves looking great with a 1-0 lead and creating several chances to score. However, Brilla struck quickly and scored three goals in a short period of time and closed the half up 3-1. The second half was well fought but saw no scoring by either teams,
The Capitals end their PDL campaign with a strong season and have plenty of reasons for optimism in looking ahead. One more chance to see them in action will be tonight when they play the Charity Cup vs the Dream Futbol Team. This will be a fundraiser for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Kick off will be at 7:00 pm at Olympia Stadium.
